ABOUT

I’m an IT and Creative Professional looking to improve the lives of others through innovative technology, smart design, and thoughtful instruction. At my current position as the IT Support Specialist at Motive, I find ways to improve systems through technology and keep the organization up to speed with the fast-changing digital landscape. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia College Chicago with a B.A. in Film & Video, and studied abroad for a year at the University of Wollongong in Australia.

Although my degree is in media arts, I’ve always been passionate about technology, and naturally quick to learn new software and hardware. Like when directing a film, it’s important when working in a tech support role to be able to break down complicated ideas in a way that allows anyone to understand them and to communicate those concepts effectively. I’ve worked with people of all ages and digital literacy levels to help them use technology productively in their daily lives.

It’s exciting to see the potential for our civilization as things advance in spaces like 3D fabrication, flexible screen technolgy, wearables, virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, self-driving vehicles, and artificial intelligence. (hopefully Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking are wrong about their Skynet-like predictions when it comes to that last one) When I’m not considering a future based on either Her or The Matrix, I’m working on creative projects, playing guitar, hosting movie nights, exploring new places, and trying to perfect my guacamole recipe.
